DSD's more "mature" athletes were in action last weekend in Birmingham at the BMAF championships. This is the last major outing for the masters before the World Championships in Lahti, Finland at the end of the month. Pride of place goes to M75 thrower, Michael McGarry who won the discus in a fine 29.75m and came 2nd in the shot (8.90m) and the hammer (29.85m). Lucy Moore got a silver in the W50 triple jump (8.11m) and bronze in the javelin (20.54m). Our two UK based members also medalled, with Pat Logan coming in 2nd in the M45 200m (24.28 secs) and 3rd in the 100m (11.92 secs) and Wally Franklin getting silver in the M55 100m (12.6 secs).
