At the "mature" end of the age range, DSD was represented by three athletes at the recent European Masters Indoor Championships in Ancona, Italy. The prize for endurance goes to Kevin Byrne, who finished 11th in the M35 Pentathlon in a new pb score of 2580 points.
Kevin's first event was the hurdles, which was held at 10am. However, his last event, the 1,000m, didn't take place until 11.30 pm that night!! Kevin's score included a new pb and Irish age group record in the HJ (1.69m).
Also competing, was George Wyatt in the M40 age group. George got to the final of the Triple Jump, clearing 10.86m. He also competed in the long jump. Finally, Lucy Moore competed in the W50 category and came 4th in the High Jump with 1.30m. She also made the final of the shot putt, throwing 9.35m to finish 8th. She came 7th in the weight throw and her best of 10.23m was an Irish age group best.
