There were mixed fortunes for DSD athletes in today's European Championships in Barcelona.

Deirdre Ryan was on early in the morning and produced and excellent season's best of 1.90m. She narrowly failed at the automatic qualifying height of 1.92m.

Meanwhile David Gillick came 5th in the 400m in 45.25, well below the 44.79 he ran in the semis.

Tomorrow sees the relay heats. Claire Bergin is the sub for both the 4x100m and the 4x400m. Hopefully the Irish teams can do themselves justice and make the finals!
