Hazel Murphy won her first National T & F gold medal in Santry yesterday with a fine performance in the 1500m in a time of 4.18.24. In the High Jump Deirdre Ryan added to her collection of golds with a jump of 1.80, and in the 3,000m Steeplechase Bryony Treston won her first national title with a time of 11.17.

Joe Sweeney and Brendan O'Neill led most of the way in the 5,000 with Joe showing a great return to form when finishing second to Alistair Cragg, with a time of 14.07.44, Brendan finished in 5th place in 14.21.26 and Robert Corbally 13th in 15.13.04.

Best in the sprints was Patrick Phelan who put up a fine performance to finish 4th in the 200m in 21.60 and 6th in the 100m in 10.92. Claire Bergin ran a terrific race to finish 4th in the 400m with a PB of 54.56 and in the men's 400m Nick Hogan was placed 4th in 47.90.
