Congratulations to Hazel Murphy on a great new PB in the 1,500m! She came 5th in Watford in 4:14.54. This augers well for her efforts in the European Team Competition next weekend, where she will try to get the qualifying standard for Barcelona. She will need to run 15:35, which is well within her ability, given the right conditions and a fast race!

Joe Sweeney ran 13:54.6 in the 5,000m in Watford. This elevates him to 3rd on the Irish ranking list this season. It is great to see Joe back racing after a series of recent setbacks! He needs 13:40 to qualify for Barcelona.

Well done also to Nick Hogan, who ran 47.78 secs for a new PB in Geneva last night. He has put himself back in the mix for the relay squad for Barcelona!

David Gillick opened his season with a swift 45.32 secs for 2nd place, loosing out to his training partner Martin Rooney. Hopefully David can go under 45 secs next weekend at the European Team Competition in Budapest. He was of-course, well within the qualifying time for Barcelona (46.75 secs).

Claire Bergin came 6th in the 400m in Geneva, running 55.37 secs, a great improvement on her last race in Palafrugell several weeks ago.

Aoife MacNeill ran the 100m but was a little disapointed with her 12.24 secs.
