Despite the gale-force winds in Tullamore yesterday Joe Dowling took the U.18 400m title in 49.71. His team mate Kevin Lynch stepped up a gear to join Joe in the winner's enclosure with his first National title, winning the U.17 400m in 51.87. Mark Kavanagh was also in good form when he finished in 2nd place in the U.19 100m in 10.91. Siofra Cleirigh Buttner won the U.16 800m in 2.16.5. Others who ran well were Conor Conway 4th 100m 11.5; Neil Gorey 4th U.17 High Jump 1.78; Daniel Tatlow Devally 5th U.18 S/Chase; Laoise Gleeson 4th U.12 600m 1.49; Jade Leahy 6th 250m hurdles and 7th 100m; Shane Mullins 5th U.12 Long Jump and 6th 600m; Joe Halway 7th U.14 75m hurdles (fell when finishing in 3rd place); Stephen Gibney 7th U.18 3,000m; Sarah Torrans 6th U.12 60m; Cassie Murphy 6th U.14 800m 2.26; Ella Fennelly 9th U.15 800m 2.31; Rachel Dunne 8th U.13 60mH; Katie Magee 8th U.12 H.Jump 1.20 and Julian Martin 9th U.15 800m.
