The Leinster Senior & Masters Championships were held in warm and mainly sunny conditions in Tullamore last Sunday. It provided a good opportunity for a number of athletes to start their season off, or to get a race in before next weekend's National League. It was great to see Zita Murphy (former DSD Ladies Captain) back in action! A sizeable contingent of Masters athletes competed with some success accross a wide range of events. Special mention should go to Michael McGarry, who won four excellent gold medals in the throwing events, at the age of 74 years! You're a great example to us all Michael! The age categories are a bit complicated - basically you are in a new age group every 5 years and the higher the category (e.g. M4 or M9), the older you are!!
