Following up on Wednesday's magnificent performances, D.S.D. athletes again showed great form at the Leinster Schools in Santry on Saturday.  Joe Dowling and Henry Sheill were 1st and 2nd in the Senior Boys 400m, with Joe recording 49.47 and Henry 50.28.  In the Intermediate Boys 400m Philip Smith ran a very brave race to take the title in 50.93 from clubmate Kevin Lynch 51.80.  Mark Kavanagh achieved a PB in the Senior Boys 200m recording 22.00 and also took silver in the 100m in 11.26, with the winner in both races being the in form Kings Hospital athlete Seye Ogunlewe.  Conor Sexton was 1st in the Inter Boys Long Jump, 6.12 and 3rd Inter 100m.  in the Inter Girls 3,000m Claire McCarthy took the gold medal despite having to run an extra lap, and in the Senior Girls 3,000m Fiona McKenna also finished in 1st place.  Other good performances were:  Joseph Halwax 1st Minor Boys Hurdles and 3rd Long Jump;  Marcus Martennson 2nd Junior Boys 200m; Jade Leahy 2nd Junior Girls 200m; Laura Hannigan 3rd Sr. Girls 400m; Themba Nkoala 1st High Jump 1.85 & Long Jump 5.95 and Neil Gorey 3rd High Jump.  Well done to all!.
