Siofra Cleirigh Buttner continued on her winning way in Tullamore on Saturday when she ran home an easy winner in the U.16 Girl's 1500m Championship, in a time of 4.36.29. Just missing out on the bronze medal was Clare McCarthy, who finished 4th in 4.55.81, with Sorcha Humphries 5th and Una Marty McCarthy Deering in 8th place. Mark Kavanagh took silver in the U.19 Boys 200m in 22.10 with Joe Dowling also taking silver in the U.18 200m in 22.71. There was a photo finish between two D.S.D. athletes for 3rd place in the U.17 Boys 200m with Jack O'Mahony taking the bronze in 23.43 and Kevin Lynch just missing out in 23.44, and finishing in 6th place was Conor Conway in 23.97. Conor Sexton was 4th in the U.18 Boys Long Jump with a leap of 6.27. Jade Leahy was 6th in the U.16 200m and Marcus Martennsson also 6th in the U.16 boys race. Very unlucky not to take a medal and taking a nasty tumble was the very brave Ella Fennelly, who got up to finish in 4th place in the U.15 girls 1500m with a time of 4.56.24. Patrick Elliott was 6th in the U.15 boys 1500m in 4.34 with Liam Fitzpatrick 10th in 4.48. Stephen Gibney was 9th in the U.18 1500m in 4.21 with Killian Mooney 13th in the U.16 1500m in 4.35.
