Big congratulations go out to Deirdre on being selected Athlete of the Year at the National Athletics Awards, in association with Woodie's DIY and Tipperary Crystal, on Saturday night in the Crown Plaza Hotel, Santry. For anyone who doesn't know, Deirdre finished in 6th place at the World Track & Field Championships with a jump of 1.95. This was a new Irish record and secured Deirdre the "A" qualification standard for the London Olympics. Well done Deirdre from all at D.S.D!
