DSD is to be well represented in the upcoming Dublin City Marathon. We have a number of athletes (and a coach) competing over the the gruelling 26.22 miles
Linda Byrne will be making her marathon debut, her recent time of 1:59.42 for a three quarter marathon event in Athlone suggests that she will be a serious contender in chasing the illusive Olympic qualification time of 2.37. Ava Hutchinson, is the current national women’s cross country champion and national half- marathon gold medallist, will also be running for a medal and should perform well over her first attempt at this distance. Other DSD members competing include our Meet and Train Coach Declan Ryan who is no stranger to the 26.22miles and Emer Kenny will also be challenging herself to complete the course in under 4hours. John Swift and Annete Kehoe are two more of the DSD athletes who are hoping to perform well and lets hope for PBs all round.
