Dundrum South Dublin Athletic Club - New Member Enquiry Application

 

Please complete the data capture form below. The completion of this form is an expression of your child’s interest to join DSD AC and does not guarantee a place. DSD AC will endeavour to accommodate those interested but cannot guarantee a place due to coach/athlete ratio restrictions and/or capacity limits at the training venue.

Please Note: The minimum age of membership is 7 years old (born 2011). New member applications are now open to all from age 7 (born 2011) and up. It should be noted new entrants must be age 7 or older at the time of joining the club.

The following are the training locations and days available for potential new members.

4 Irishtown Stadium Saturday 12-1pm Little Athletics (age 7 yrs) upwards All Events - Running, Sprints, Hurdles, Field Events (jumps/throws), etc.
5 Marlay Park Saturday 11am-12pm U13 (age 12 yrs) upwards Running (Endurance, Middle/Long Distance)
6 BCS Tuesday 6:15pm to 7:15pm Fit4Youth (age 14 to 18) Fit4Youth is a non-competitive group good for beginners/returning athletes who would like to gain fitness/strength. This can be a pathway to gain a level of fitness for a move to a competitive specialised training group. F4Y Training covers all aspects of running and fitness with some exposure to field events
7 St.Thomas Est. Sunday 11am to 12pm Fit4Youth (age 14 to 18) Fit4Youth is a non-competitive group good for beginners/returning athletes who would like to gain fitness/strength. This can be a pathway to gain a level of fitness for a move to a competitive specialised training group. F4Y Training covers all aspects of running and fitness with some exposure to field events

Places are given on a first come first serve basis, however, where there is high demand for limited places, the club will review applications on a Priority Membership basis.  The following applicants qualify under the priority membership offering:

  • Where a parent commits to coaching and/or club administrative duties. If interested, please advise and we will forward further details

  • Applicants with a sibling member

Please note we are a competitive club and while no pressure is ever applied to an athlete to compete we do expect athletes to take part in some athletic competitions suitable for their age group/ability.  We are a fully inclusive club with athletes of all abilities and nothing is ever expected from an athlete other than to perform to the best of their ability.
