There was a huge turnout in Dundalk I.T., yesterday for the Irish Life Health Uneven Ages National Cross Country Championships, with D.S.D, adding to the haul of medals from Abbotstown with many gutsy performances.
A very impressive run by Paul O’Donnell, saw him win the U.19 Boy’s race, leading our U.19 Boy’s Team to 1st place, with Christian McKenna, just back from injury, supporting him well in 13th place.
In the U.17 Girls race Abi Taylor showed no signs of her illness of last week, running a superb race to take the title, and she also led our team to gold team medals, with Roseanne McCullough finishing third to take bronze individual medal.
Aaron Donnelly was first home in the U.17 Boys race in 10th place, with the team finishing 2nd.
The U.15 Boys also took silver with Peter Duffy first home in 16th place.
Our U.19 Girls, despite a depleted team, showed great determination to grab the bronze medals.
The U.15 girls were unlucky not to pick up medals, finishing in 4th position, with U.14 Eimear Maher showing the way in 12th place. Also enjoying the occasion and obtaining great experience from the day were the U.13 girls who finished 8th.
Congratulations and very well done to all!
