D.S.D retain Trophy at Ras Na hEireann

Killian Mooney and Sarah Fitzpatrick took 1st place at Ras Na hEireann, in their respective senior categories, in Oldbridge, Co. Meath, on Sunday.

Killian found himself in glorious isolation from the gun, as he set a fast pace for his second win this year.  He was supported by Colm Cunningham, Fergus Collins, John Urell; Alan Egan (3rd o45); Thomas McDonagh and David O’Leary.

Sarah Fitzpatrick won the Women’s race for the 3rd year in a row, as she strode to an easy victory.  Aisling King, who was having her first cross country race for two years, had a great return, finishing top junior and 6th overall.  Our women’s team retained the team trophy, as Sarah O’Carroll (7th) Amy Moran (9th) supported well to ensure victory for D.S.D.   Romaine King, Sarah Sutton, Ciara Darker (1st W45); Maxine Jones (1st W55); Eimear Mc (2nd W45); Camilla Tuffy; Maria McCarthy and Pauline O’Brien, all competed very well to ensure the trophy returned to D.S.D for a 3rd consecutive year.

Well done to all!
