Well done to all our athletes, parents and coaches who travelled to Athlone yesterday for last day of National Indoor Championships. As well as the relays we also had young athletes competing in High Jump, Long Jump and Shot. Despite not having been able to train for past few weeks, Liam Jenkins jumped 1.78 in the U.17 high jump finishing third. Emma Roche just missed reaching the final of the Shot with a throw of 8.29.
In the relays our U.16 girls again rose to the occasion with a great win, with the U.18 girls just pipped at the finish for gold, but running very well for silver. Also winning silver our U.17 boys team with another very good performance. Sarah Gaughran travelled to Athlone to represent her team, despite being ill, and showed great guts, with the team finishing 3rd.
