The stand out performances at the Dublin Juvenile Indoor Championships, on Saturday and Sunday in Abbotstown, came from our hurdlers. In the U.17 girls 60m hurdles, we had defending National champion Laura Gallagher, finishing first with her club mates Cara Murphy 2nd and Hannah Murray 3rd, for a clean sweep of medals for D.S.D. In the U.17 boys Cian Dunne, also the defending champion, finished 1st, with David Bosch winning the U.16 boys. In the U.14 girls Georgia O’Keeffe was 2nd with Darcy Hutter 2nd U.13 girls.
Ciarán Carthy was an impressive winner of the U.19 boys 200m, dropping down from his favourite 400m, confirming that his speedwork is on the right track! Gavin Doran was 2nd in the U.18 boys 200m (3rd 60m), followed by Tobi Edward 4th and Adam Whitten 5th. Cian Dunne took silver in the U.17 boys 200m, with Erica Doyle winning her first individual sprint medal finishing 2nd in the U.17 girls and Cara Murphy 3rd.
Faye Dervan had a double in the U.18 800m/1500m with strong performances, Canaan St. Lewis won the U.19 1500m, and bronze medals were won by Adam Harvey U.18 boys; Jack Moraghan (to add to his bronze in the 400m) and Aimee Kenna U.17 girls. Harry Ellis U.9 was 1st 60m and 500m.
Charlotte Bourke was first in the U.18 girls 400m; Roisin Healy 1st U.18 60m and Long Jump. Gregor McCullagh Travers 3rd U.18 boys 400m.
In the U.15 Girls, Ellie Dunphy 2nd High Jump; Jessie McConn Walsh 3rd, Molly Mullally 3rd 60m & 3rd Long Jump; Ciara Wilson-Bowen 3rd Walk.
