DSD's Elizabeth Ndudi breaks the National Senior Long Jump record!

Elizabeth Ndudi at the U20 Championships in Jerusalem last August

Congratulations to ELIZABETH NDUDI who broke the National Senior Long Jump record last Saturday 13th April while competing in the Gary Wieneke Memorial, in Illinois. Donned in the colours of University of Illinois, where she's studying Business, Elizabeth jumped a best of 6.68m, smashing by six centimetres the record held by Ferrybank AC’s Kelly Proper since 2010. Elizabeth jumped an impressive 6.67m also, showing great consistency.

Only last August, her personal best of 6.56m won her the gold at the 2023 European Athletics U20 Championships in Jerusalem. This latest PB tells us that Elizabeth is very much in form.

Back at home, Terry Carthy and Damien Moran, who coached the Dub in her early days to her teens, are as proud as punch of the DSD athlete and are both very excited for her future. While at Illinois, Elizabeth is being coached by Petros Kyprianou from Cyprus who has already guided several athletes to the Olympic Games.

In the meantime, Elizabeth's next target is this year's World U20 Championships which take place in Peru in August.

Well done, Elizabeth!
