
D.S.D claim Silver at Dublin Novice Cross-Country!
DSD’s endurance group made a positive start to the 2025 cross country season with a team silver in the men’s race at the Dublin Novice championship in the Phoenix Park on Sunday 12 th October. In perfect conditions, 6 DSD athletes toed the start line, in a stacked field with 130 runners. Race winner, Mahad-Mohamed Egaal, led a dominant Clonliffe team to victory, but DSD weren’t far behind, with Jamie Byrne leading our team home in 4 th place individually. Next home for DSD, in his first race for the club, was recent joiner John Neville. A strong performance from John saw him come home in 9 th place overall. Not far behind were clubmates Patrick Elliott (14 th ) and Lochlann Hannon (16 th ) who completed the scoring for DSD. Other DSD athletes, Gavin Callery (22 nd ) and Rick Nally (31 st ) also put in strong performances and showed that the DSD team will be a force to be reckoned with in the remaining novice cross country races this season.
