Seán sets new Irish Indoor Record

Congratulations to Seán Roth on his great new Irish Indoor Pole Vault record of 5.31, which he set on Saturday 6th February representing University of Louisville, at Doc Hale Elite, Virginia Tech. This was a fantastic start to the season for Seán, and augurs well for the upcoming competitions. Seán will return to competition in the colours of Louisville University at the Lenny Lyles Cardinal Invitational on Wednesday 17th February. After this new Club, Uni and National record in the bag, he has now turned his sights to preparation for the ACC Indoor Championships next weekend, and all going well the NCAA Championships in March. Despite his recent success, Seán thinks he can go much higher “I am still on my short approach, so hopefully I will be able to adapt my technique to the faster run and get on bigger poles, so I can jump higher.” Sitting only 5cm off the highest vault in Irish athletics history, Seán is on the cusp of making a big breakthrough.
