Every summer since 1983, Dublin's streets thunder with the noise of thousands of women running the Vhi Women's Mini-Marathon. An inspiring day of lung-bursting personal bests (PBs), followed by thousands more who are raising funds for very worthy causes.

The Vhi Women’s Mini-Marathon is amongst the largest women-only races in the world, with over one million women having taken part since 1983. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the 2020 and 2021 Mini-Marathons took place virtually. 2022 saw us back on the streets!

Brand new Athletics Campus opened in January 2023
After a long day in the trenches together, there's nothing better than teaming up with your colleagues to take part in the Spirit Sandyford 5K! At least, we think so!

DSD approached the Sandyford Business District, with the key support of the Spirit Motor Group, amongst others, the Spirit Sandyford 5K was born in September 2015.
​
Since then, the race has grown in popularity with local businesses routinely sending out their finest out to do them proud.

New Multisport Campus
Since acquiring 25 acres on Tibradden Road between 2013 and 2015, DSD has been working feverishly on its new home.

In partnership with Dún Laoghaire Rathdown County Council, we have planning permission for a full Multisport campus
​
In January 2023, DSD members moved into their new home. It's still work in progress, but we are enjoying our World Athletics standard 8-lane, 400-metre Mondo outdoor track, our athletics field for jumps and throws, and our 2KM of hilly trails. Phase 2 is on the way. Big dreams already coming true!
