👏 Notes from the Chair, another jam-packed week ✨

As Bloom muses in Ulysses, it would be a good puzzle to traverse Dublin without passing a pub.  Is it possible to win an Athletics  medal in Ireland without beating a DSD athlete? 🥈🥈This week I admired our Captains' will to win in our indoor track and field league teams. Take a bow Ciaran Carty and Rachel Dunne.👏👏 👨‍🎓Our athletes wore different vests in the University and Leinster Schools champs. The High Performance committee met to set the criteria for the year.  👷 We sealed the deal for draw down of the Large Scale Sporting Infrastructure Grant (Building works to start soon). Sharon broke the credit card after entering 47 relays teams for this weekend's Dublin indoor champs.  🌎 Ronan Gately master minded the assault on the masters' 4 x 800m world records on Wednesday.  (Watch out for Maria McCamridge's role in the near future). This weekend, I'll be looking out for Elizabeth Ndudi's long jump form in the U.S..🇺🇸 🤸🏻‍♂️🏃‍♀️‍➡️🏃🏼‍➡️ And our youngest athletes will bring the fire to the Spraoi games on Sunday. And exciting news on incoming athletes coming soon … 🏫 Well done to the Benildus Boys who qualified for the All Ireland’s in Ballybrit. All the scorers are DSD U16 boys.  And Dylan McCambridge also who qualified for  Collaiste Eoin.   Gerry McGrath
