Dublin Juvenile Spraoi Team Championships 2024 Sunday 25th February National Indoor Arena, National Sports Campus, Abbotstown



Excitement is building for the inaugural Dublin Juvenile Spraoi Team Championships for U9 – U11 Age Groups to be held on Sunday 25th February at the National Indoor Area – it promises to be a fun filled day for all involved!


The day starts at 10am with the U9 Girls, U9 Boys & U10 Girls with the afternoon session starting at 1.30pm for the U10 Boys, U11 Girls & U11 Boys.

 

Athletes are participating in Club teams from their age group. All athletes will be encouraged to compete in a Run, Jump and Throw event with 4 athletes from each team competing in the Medley Relay.


  • Run: 60m race

  • Jump: Standing Long Jump

  • Throw: Overarm Weighted Beanbag Throw 

  • Medley Relay: A traditional relay but with various distances, 1st & 2nd leg are 200m, 3rd leg is 100m and final leg is 300m.


Each Team will be accompanied by a coach who will move from event to event with them.

Dublin has been broken into Conferences/Regions – North, South and West – with athletes from each age group competing together but scoring will be done per Conference/Region.

Scoring on the day will be cumulative from each event and team based with the top 3 Teams from each Conference winning medals on the day.


DSDAC is in the Southern Conference along with Blackrock, Crusaders, Cabinteely, Rathfarnham and Tallaght.


ARRIVAL TIME

Athletes should aim to arrive 1 hour before their Competition starts, this is to allow time to:

 

  • Check-in with DSD Officials – we will be seated in the stand

  • Sufficient time for warm-up with Coaches

  • Assemble at designated time for the event.

 

DSD vest MUST be worn when competing

PARKING

 

Please park in designated areas only as directed by volunteers – NO PARKING on GRASS AREAS, KERBS or ROADWAYS leading to the ARENA

 

ENTRY

 

Doors will open at 9am for Athletes and Spectators

 

Admission for Spectators €5 - wrist band MUST be worn at all times.
