Sinead Denny, now returning to form, had a 2nd place finish (54.73) at the Citius Track & Field Meeting, Berne, and was also part of the Irish 4x400m team in action there at the weekend.
Paul O’Donnell continued his upward surge to the top of the senior ranks with a great 2nd place in the Le Cheile IMC, Leixlip International meeting on Saturday, over the 3,000m in 8.28 (PB). National Cross Country Champion Hugh Armstrong, Ballina, who was home from his American base, had to pull out all the stops to stay ahead of Paul’s late surge to the line. Paul had notable names, Pierre Murchan D.C.H., and Kevin Maunsell (Clonmel) finishing behind him in 3rd and 4th positions.
