Dublin Juvenile Indoor Championships 2024 - Confirm Your National Qualifying Entry!

Many congratulations to all our DSD athletes who competed over the 5 days of Competition in the Dublin Juvenile Indoor Championships in Abbotstown!  With over 200 athletes from DSD competing in over 300 events over days 1-3, almost 50 relay teams competing over Day 4 and 5 and over 60 athletes competing in the Spraoi Games on Day 5 – DSD was well represented over the 5 days of competition. We were delighted to see so many athletes taking part – for some it was their first time competing while others are well seasoned competitors in the Indoor arena!

Thank you to our wonderful coaches who prepared their athletes so well beforehand and to those who were available on the days of competition to ensure all athletes were warmed up and ready to compete on the day! We had approximately 15 coaches from DSD in attendance on each competition day – with some coaches being there over all 5 Days of the Championships – and we are very thankful for your dedication and commitment!

And sincere thanks must also go to the many parents who volunteered their time over the 5 days of competition – not only is it a challenge to timetable so many athletes into a busy competition schedule – but to ensure there are sufficient officials for the competition days flow smoothly is another monumental task! There were over 700 volunteers required across the different sessions over 5 days of competition with over 60 officials from DSD scheduled to events during that time - along with the additional parents who put their names forward as being available if needed. We would like to thank you all for your generosity – it is most appreciated – and it made the task of providing our required allocation of volunteers much easier on this occasion!

Huge thanks and appreciation must go to Cecil and the Juvenile Competition Team from the Dublin Athletics Board - with over 2700 individual entries over Days 1 – 3, over 370 relay teams competing on Day 4, 16 Mixed Relay Teams competing on Day 5 and over 650 athletes competing in the Spraoi Games on Day 5! Without their unwavering dedication and commitment these Championships - and indeed all Dublin Juvenile Competitions - would not go ahead! This is by far the largest Juvenile Championships to take place anywhere in the country!
