Dublin Juvenile Uneven Age, Junior & Senior Cross Country Championships

National Sports Campus, Abbotstown

Sunday 1st November 2026

The Dublin Juvenile Uneven Age, Junior & Senior Cross Country Championships will take place at the National Sports Campus, Abbotstown this Sunday 1st November 2026.

All athletes competing have been pre-registered - look out for the DSD Flag and check in with a DSD Official to collect your race number.

Please note the timetable in operation on the day.

There will be a time gap between each pair of races to allow time for athletes and parents to exit the campus before the next pair of races. This is a somewhat creative schedule to comply with the parking conditions imposed by the National Sports Campus.

·       1st Race at 10am (please note times of each pair of races)

·        Check in and get your number from the DSD Official at the DSD flag

·        Please be there at least 75 mins before your race to allow number collection and warm up

·        Club Singlet must be worn

·        Be prepared for all types of weather

·       Bring food and drink as delays can happen

As you can appreciate - it takes a lot of effort from all clubs to host an athletics event. A sincere thank you to the DSD parents and to the volunteers from the Dublin Athletics Board who have given up their time to help on the day, your generosity is very much appreciated.

Dublin Athletics Board would appreciate assistance from Clubs to help set up the course on Saturday at 11am, and for course take down on Sunday – please let me know of you are able to help.

NOTE:

Coaches will be on hand to warm-up athletes and will also walk the course before race start time – please note the time that your coach has advised to arrive. It is important that you be on-time as Coaches are unable to wait to start warm-up and walk the course.

Please note that once racing has commenced, we will not be able to walk the course, therefore it is important that you arrive promptly.

Parking

Please see the following parking instructions from Dublin Athletics Board to comply with Sport Ireland restrictions on the day.

·       Parking on campus will be at a premium and extremely limited throughout the event, so we would strongly encourage all participants to carpool wherever possible, and not to arrive any earlier than needed.

·       Sports Campus official parking attendants will be on site for the duration of the event to assist with traffic management and parking arrangements. We ask that all participants follow their instructions and park only in the designated areas directed by the attendants.

·       The time gaps in the timetable are to help accommodate participants across all races. In this regard, we would appreciate if those who have completed their race could make their way off site as soon as practical. This will help free up parking spaces for participants arriving for subsequent races and assist with the smooth running of the event.

Volunteers/Officials

Clubs are required to provide volunteers at all events and we would like to thank those who have put their name forward to volunteer - further information to follow directly to those who will be assisting on the day.

Due to the extended timetable of paired races – we will require some additional volunteers on the day – please let me know if you are able to make yourself available. We have 104 juvenile entries on the day and currently have only 5 volunteers so would love to hear from you!

We would also like to thank our coaches who have prepared their athletes so well and will be attending on the day for what promises to be a fantastic finale to the Dublin Juvenile XC Championships!

Any queries or to volunteer please don't hesitate to contact me at:  dsdregistrar@gmail.com

Wishing all athletes the very best of luck!

 Yours in Sport

Sharon Wilson
