D.S.D., athletes featured very prominently at the recent Dublin Track & Field Championships, with many fine performances.
In the U.19 Girls we had double wins by Mollie O’Reilly 200m and 400m and by Rachel Dunne 100m hurdles and 400m hurdles, and Mollie and Rachel were also members of the winning 4x100m and 4x400m relay teams. Niamh Carey was 1st in the U.18 1500m with Aisling King 3rd and Aisling also won the 3,000m. Tara Jenkins won the U.18 Long Jump. Roseanne McCullough was the winner of the U.17 Girls 1500m. Lily May Craig was a very impressive winner of the U.14 Girls 1500m and was 3rd in the 800m. Also in this age group and finishing 2nd 800m and 2nd 1500m was Aimee Kenny. Laura Gallagher was also in great form winning the U.14 Girls 80m; 200m and 75m hurdles, as well as anchoring the winning 4x100m relay team. Hannah Bondizo finished 1st 250m hurdles with Eve Jennings 2nd, and in the 80m hurdles Charlotte Burke and Eve finished 1st and 2nd respectively. Molly Hourihan returned to good form with a win in the Long Jump and 250m hurdles; and 2nd in the 100m and 200m.
Standout performances in the Boys were by Liam Jenkins U.15 boys High Jump (1st); James Holden 1st 200m and 400m; Conor Halpin 1st 3000m; Niall Prior 1st U.19 400m; Seamus Fenton just pipped for 1st in the U.16 200m; Christian McKenna 2nd 1500m; Cian Dunne 1st U.14 75m hurdles and Long Jump and Morgan Clarkson 2nd U.14 1500m and 3rd 800m.
