At the Irish University Outdoor Track & Field Championships last weekend ,in Athlone, Kate Doherty (guest) finished an impressive 1st in the 100m hurdles in 14.10. Paul O’Donnell (UCD) came 2nd in the 3,000m Steeplechase with a time of 9.23.57. Also impressing after his return from illness, Aengus Meldon (NUIG) finished 5th in the final of the 800m in 1.55.55 and was a member of the Galway 4x400m team that finished 3rd. Emer Fitzpatrick (UU) ran a great race in the 3,000m Steeplechase finishing 2nd 11.48.43. David Dagg (UCD) was the winner of the combined events with a points total of 2904. Rachel Dunne (Trinity) 5th Triple Jump 10.02.
