Parents,

As you are aware during the Autumn/Winter months Marlay Park will be closing at 6pm from the 1st October. Traditionally, during these months we move from Marlay Park to Ballinteer Community School (BCS), but with current Covid-19 restrictions we are unable to access indoor training facilities. Which means we don’t have the use of the BCS hall. While we await an easing of these restrictions which will allow us access BCS, all Marlay/BCS Juvenile training groups will train from the green area next to Meadowbrook carpark with effect Thursday 1st October. See red outlined area in the attached map. The area is at the rear of the houses on Ludford Drive.

TRAINING FROM THURSDAY 1ST OCTOBER 2020!

All Tuesday and Thursday Juvenile training Groups will train from 6pm as usual.

The Wednesday night Little Athletics Group will train from a slightly earlier time of 5.30pm – 6.30pm and will be training from the Meadowbrook Leisure Centre all weather pitches. See map with area marked ‘Little Athletics’.

NOTE:

· Parents should accompany their child when checking-in before training.

· Parent should collect their child on time at the end of training.

· Please note we do not have access to toilet facilities, athletes should make use of the toilet at home prior to leaving for training.

· Athletes should be prepared for all weathers as we are training outdoors until the restrictions are eased enough to allow us access to indoor training facilities.

· As with all our training sessions only those who have accepted the training invite via the ClubForce App can attend training.

· Please ensure you accept the training invite prior to attending, Coaches/Officials will turn away those who have not accepted the invite.

· Offence should not be taken in this instance, as the DSD official/coach are complying with DSD Covid Training Protocols. Any issues in this regard should be addressed to DSD Covid Compliance Officer, Damien Moran at dsdcovidofficer@gmail.com

We very much appreciate your co-operation and help during this time as we try to keep our training groups together and active during these restrictions.

Finally, please note Irishtown training will continue as usual on Wednesday (7pm) and Saturday (12pm).

Yours in sport.

Damien Moran

Athletics Operations Director

& Covid Compliance Officer.
