The last event on the Athletics Ireland Competition Calendar for 2023 was held in St Anne’s Park, Raheny on Sunday 17th December with almost 250 athletes from 27 different countries competing in the first leg of the World Athletics Race Walking Tour.
In dry yet windy conditions, Ciara Wilson Bowen took Silver in the inaugural National U20 Women’s 10km Championships, improving her PB by over half a minute from her previous 10km at the Dudinska 50 in Dudince, Slovakia in March. Well done Ciara!
The event was also history making in hosting the first ever Marathon Race Walk Mixed Relay in Europe, this new event will now feature in the programme of the upcoming 2024 Paris Olympic Games.
