Dublin Juvenile Spraoi Team Championships 2026
Sunday 8th February
National Indoor Arena, National Sports Campus, Abbotstown
Excitement is building for the Dublin Juvenile U9-U11 Spraoi Team Championships to be held this coming Sunday 8th February at the National Indoor Area – it promises to be a fun filled day for all involved!
The Spraoi Games start at 10am with the U9 Girls & U9 Boys, followed at 12.10pm by the U10 Girls & U10 Boys and finally the U11 Girls & U11 Boys at 2.20pm.
Athletes are participating together in a Club team from their age group. All athletes will compete in a Track Event and a Field Event.
Track:
60m Race: traditional format with multiple rounds (Heat, Semi, Final)
300m Race: multiple heats with NO finals
Field:
Jump: Standing Long Jump (U9 & U10) and Regular Long Jump (U11)
Throw: Standing Turbo Throw
Each Team will be accompanied by a Designated Coach who will accompany athletes in the Warm Up Area, prepare them to enter the Competition Area for each event and supervise them in the Athlete Team Area between events.
All Competitors will receive a special certificate – there will be no medals awarded.
ARRIVAL TIME: COACHES WILL ADVISE TEAMS ON ARRIVAL TIMES
Athletes should aim to arrive 1 hour before their Competition starts, this is to allow time to:
· Check-in with DSD Officials – we will be seated in the stand.
· Sufficient time for warm-up with Coaches.
· Assemble at designated time for the event.
DSD vest MUST be worn when competing
Please be advised, the timetable is subject to change without notice, events could be earlier or later than the scheduled time.
Please listen to announcements for any amendments to the schedule.

VOLUNTEERS
A sincere thank you to all of our parents who have generously put their names forward to volunteer during the Spraoi Games!
Given the number of DSD entries and the required ratio - we are requested to provide volunteers to cover 14 slots on the day.
On this occasion I have endeavoured to match volunteer slots with the time that your athlete will be in attendance while also taking into consideration any specific requests where possible – as I am sure you can imagine – this is not a small undertaking.
Please ensure that you arrive as requested and stay for the duration of your session – in some cases this will be to the end of an event or until the next DSD volunteer arrives to take over.
If there are some additional parents from the U9 Athletes who are available to volunteer – if you could please let me know at dsdregistrar@gmail.com
PARKING
Please park in designated areas only as directed by volunteers – NO PARKING on GRASS AREAS, KERBS or ROADWAYS leading to the ARENA
ENTRY
Admission for Spectators €5 - wrist band MUST be worn at all times.
NOTES
· Please ENTER through the Main Door
· Please EXIT through the door at the bottom end of the arena
· No ENTRY through the EXIT doors please
· Please respect all voluntary officials and stewards and abide by instructions and advice given
· Please dispose of rubbish in bins provided or bring it home with you
