Our coaches have been busy organising athletes for the upcoming Teams Competition – it’s always a fun day of competition for our younger juveniles and is great to see so many athletes putting their names forward to take part.
For some it will be their first taste of competition and competing together as part of a team is a great introduction to this. We hope everyone is looking forward to and enjoys themselves on the day.
We have 131 Athlete Entries and 15 Relay Teams on the day – so as you can imagine this takes a considerable amount of organisation to coordinate!
A reminder that the Relays are a Team event – with 4 athletes making up each team – if a child is unavailable, it will impact the other children on that team.

VOLUNTEERS
Thank you to all the parents who volunteered for the Teams Championships – it is most appreciated.
The day is split into morning and afternoon sessions – please ensure you arrive as requested and stay for the duration of your session. Check in with Seamus, who will coordinate volunteers on the day.
Don't worry if it's your first time volunteering; there will always be an expert on hand to provide guidance for each event.
We would also like to thank our fantastic Coaches who have prepared their athletes so well and will be attending on the day – your commitment and dedication is most appreciated and we look forward to all the fun of the Teams Championships!
PARKING
Please note that there is very little parking at Irishtown Stadium and on roads close by.
On street parking can be found a little further away in the wider area past the park on Cambridge Road, South Lotts Road, Bath Avenue etc. Please allow for 15/20 minute walk. There is some paid parking available 15 minutes’ walk away at the Shelbourne Park Greyhound Stadium on South Lotts Road (overflow access at signs for Sportsco).
If using on street parking please consider the residents and do not obstruct their entrances, and refrain from parking in the housing estate between the stadium and Sean Moore Road so as not to infringe on residents.
We would like to discourage people from parking at (other than core officials) or approaching
the stadium due to very narrow roads.
PUBLIC TRANSPORT
For public transport the Stadium is served by the following bus routes C1, C2, 47, S2 and 82
all within 3 minutes walking distance, also the C3, C4, C5 and C6 have termini 15-minute
walk away as is the Dart station at Lansdowne Road.
Please find attached
Please be advised, the timetable is subject to change without notice, events could be earlier or later than the scheduled time.
Remember that all officials are volunteers and respect their requests and direction during the Championships.
Please don’t hesitate to make contact if you have any questions.
Wishing all of our athletes the very best of luck!
Yours in sport
