D.S.D claim Silver at Dublin Novice Cross-Country!

DSD’s endurance group made a positive start to the 2025 cross country season with a team silver in the men’s race at the Dublin Novice championship in the Phoenix Park on Sunday 12th October.  In perfect conditions, 6 DSD athletes toed the start line, in a stacked field with 130 runners.

Race winner, Mahad-Mohamed Egaal, led a dominant Clonliffe team to victory, but DSD weren’t far behind, with Jamie Byrne leading our team home in 4th place individually.  Next home for DSD, in his first race for the club, was recent joiner John Neville.  A strong performance from John saw him come home in 9th place overall.  Not far behind were clubmates Patrick Elliott (14th) and Lochlann Hannon (16th) who completed the scoring for DSD. Other DSD athletes, Gavin Callery (22nd) and Rick Nally (31st) also put in strong performances and showed that the DSD team will be a force to be reckoned with in the remaining novice cross country races this season.

Well done to all! (Thanks to Rob for report)
