Dundrum South Dublin Athletics Club – Juvenile Pentathlon Entry Form 2016

When: Saturday 16th January 2016 Where: Santry Stadium Time: 2 – 5pmWarm up at 1pm. Timetable to follow. Cost: €5

Who: All club members from u 12 – u 18

The 5th annual DSDAC Pentathlon Championships takes place this year on Saturday 16th January in Santry Stadium.

This is the weekend before the AAI National Combined Events Championship and the club event is ideal preparation for athletes competing in this.

We had our first ever DSD representative in the Schools International Pentathlon in Glasgow on December 12th – David Dagg – and he started off in Combined Events in our club pentathlon. There are a few changes to the format this year:

(1) All athletes do one jump (HJ or LJ): one throw (shot) and one running event (60m hurdles or 800m).

(2) Combined Events points are awarded according to the time, or distance/height jumped or distance thrown.

(3) There is a team element to it – everyone gets to represent a country (like a mini Olympics). The top 4 individuals total scores for each country count, but everyone on the winning team gets a prize.

(4) There will be a 4 x 100m relay to finish the day off.

The senior club athletes and coaches have volunteered to officiate on the day but we will need lots of help from parents so please put your name forward. Please check the DSD website for further information about the event closer to the day.

Please print off the attached Entry Form and return to your coach by January 9th 2016
