Congratulations to all of our athletes who participated in Day 1 of the Dublin Juvenile T&F Championships last weekend – there were some fine performances all round with many PBs, Finalists and Medallists amongst our DSD athletes.
Thank you to our coaches who were there on the day and who prepared their athletes so well for the Competition.
Thank you also to our parents who generously volunteered their time to help officiate on the day – your help was most appreciated.
Please note – if you are on the schedule to volunteer – we ask that you let us know if you are unable to fulfil your timeslot as several coaches and myself had to step in cover slots where our volunteers were missing to allow the competitions to go ahead.

National Qualification
Individual Events – first 4 athletes qualify for Nationals except in 600m where 3 qualify.
Relays – 3 Teams in each Age Group qualify for Nationals.
U12/U13/U14/U15/U16 - limited to 3 events plus relays at Nationals.
U17/U18/U19 - limited to 4 events plus relays at Nationals.
Volunteer Officials
As with all events it is a condition of the Dublin Athletics Board Juvenile Competition Committee that all clubs provide officials in order to ensure their athletes are permitted to compete – without volunteers and officials – these competitions cannot take place.
To ensure our coaches can prepare and assist their athletes we look to parents to help when required and aim to schedule volunteers on a rota basis throughout the day to share the load.
There are a number of parents who step up regularly - for which we are most appreciative - however we would like to invite those that have not volunteered before to also come forward.
Please let us know when you are available - there is no prior experience required – it is a great way to learn more about the different events and give back to the athletics community.
Co-ordinating volunteers for the Dublin Indoors Championships was made much easier this year due to the numbers of parents who put their names forward to volunteer – we would like to sincerely thank everyone who volunteered - we hope that you will all be generous with your time on this occasion as well!
Yours in Sport
