Eimear sets new club 1500m record!

DSD’s Eimear Maher took to the start line in the international 1500m at the Morton Games on Friday night ranked slowest in a top class field.

Rather than being overawed by the challenge that lay ahead Eimear, ever the competitor, stood strong and delivered a top class run, producing a 5 second personal best to finish 9^th place in a time of 4.08.67.

Not only is this a DSD Club record, it also ranks Eimear 12^th on the Irish All-Time performance list. 

Eimear heads off to the European U23 Championships in Bergen Norway this week where she will represent Ireland and DSD in the 1500m.  She will compete in the heats of the 1500m on Friday 18^th.
