DSD endurance Squad moved on to Tullamore on Sunday to race the Aisling Murphy Memorial 4 mile In next stage of the Peugeot Race series.
DSD’s men and women again put in some great performances to win the overall team competition and extend their lead in the Peugeot team competition.
Killian Mooney (19.33) and Fiona Clinton (22.20) both finished 2nd in the respective Men and Women’s races to ensure DSD strengthened their hold on the lead in overall team competition.
In the Men’s race Killian was closely followed home by Jamie Byrne (20.09) (fresh from a 2nd place in the Leinster Schools 1500M the day before), running his first competitive road race. Aidan Murphy (21.22) was the teams 3rd scorer finishing 12th with Gavin Callery (21.26) in 15th.
In the Women’s race DSD dominated the front of the race with Sarah Mulligan (22.52) coming home in 4th and Maria McCambridge (23.09) 5th , Niamh Devlin (24.24)rounding out the scoring placing 11th
This has been a busy week for the DSD Endurance group using a total of 22 different endurance athletes across the Enfield and Tullamore races.
Next stop in the Peugeot series of races is the Dunshaughlin 10K on 17th June.
