It was a great weekend of athletics at the National Senior Track & Field Championships in Santry.
D.S.D athletes produced some wonderful performances. Kate Joyce stood out in the Women’s Javelin winning gold, with Mollie O’Reilly finishing 2nd in a competitive Women’s 100m. Lorcan Murphy missed most of the season as a result of injury, but put this to the back of his mind to produce a great jump in the Men’s High Jump, winning silver. Jerome Caprice was very happy to finish 2nd in the 10,000m walk. Roisin Treacy also won silver in the women’s 3000m S/Chase. Robert Hayes set a new PB in the men’s 400m to reach the final, where he finished 5th, and also setting a new PB was Andrew McGilton, who finished 7th in the Men’s 800m. Eimear Maher was just pipped for 3rd in the women’s 1500, finishing a close up 4th.
