DSD's endurance group completed a historic 'treble-double' this weekend, when winning both the men's and women's team titles, at the national 10-mile championship in the Phoenix Park. This followed team wins for both the men and women at the national 5k championships and the national 5-mile championships this summer, meaning that DSD completed a clean sweep across all events. The highlight on the day was an individual gold for Meghan Ryan in the women's race, finishing 24 seconds clear of runner up Jessica Craig from North Down, when finishing in a PB time of 57:57. Meghan regained the national title which she had previously won in 2023, which was taken by fellow DSD athlete Grace Lynch at last year's event. Meghan was supported by teammates Ruth Wilson (10th) and Sophie Chisholm (19th) to ensure that DSD took gold in the team event ahead of Galway City Harriers and Donore Harriers. On the men's side, Emmet Jennings was in contention for the medals and was gunning for another podium position after his recent win in the national 5-mile championships. Unfortunately, stomach issues meant he had to stop along the way which ruled out an individual medal. Keen to keep the team's hopes alive Emmet got going again and managed to finish in 13th place, a few places behind teammate Paul O'Donnell (8th) who is returning to racing after a recent break. Gavin Callery (16th) continued his recent streak of good form and was the 3rd DSD man home, making sure that the team title was secure, with DSD's men finishing well clear of Donore Harriers and Raheny Shamrocks. Other DSD athletes in action on the day were Robert Corbally (21st), Aidan Murphy (34th), Aengus Meldon (54th), Andrew Brooks (94th), Rahul Roy (100th), Adam Kinch (451st) and Enda McMorrow (831st). Well done to all.
