Masters Smash Records in Carlow!

DSD had 7 Masters athletes competing in the Leinster Masters in SETU Carlow on Sat & Sun 28th and 29Th May.


They returned with 13 medals – 10 Golds and 3 Silvers and 3 new Irish Masters Records.


Huge credit to Sprint Coaches Avril Dillon and David Connolly for excellent coaching, programmes and guidance. Also to Lucy Moore for excellent Jumps coaching.

100m – Dee started the race really strongly but was very unlucky to pull her calf muscle about 40m into the race.... next time!

100m Hurdles – 17.79 (new Irish Record)

Pole Vault – 3.00m


Ronan Gately - M50 – Triple Gold

100m – 13.01 (+2.0 m/s wind)

200m – 27.23 (-1.8 m/s wind)

Fintan Hourihan – M55

200m – 4th – 28.59 (-0.8 m/s wind)

400m – 2nd - 1.05.77


George Wyatt – M55 – Double Gold and 2 new Irish Records!!

Long-Jump – 5.27m

Triple-Jump – 10.60m


Shane Sheridan - M60 – Double Gold

100m – 13.18 (into a -2.6m/s wind)

200m – 27.93 (into a -0.8m/s wind)
