Silver for Sophia in Derry!

A high degree of physical and mental endurance was required yesterday in Templemore, Derry, to tackle the atrocious weather conditions, at the National Senior & Even Age Juvenile Cross Country Championships.   A big “well done” to all our athletes, parents and coaches who braved the elements.

Our U.12 girls were the first to go, and this team produced a very gutsy performance, led home by Sophia Stanley, who was just pipped for 1st place.   Sophia ran a very brave race, improving on her 4th place of last year.   The team just missed out on the medals finishing in 4th place.   Sophia won silver with Dublin, and was joined by team mate Ciara Culhane, with Dylan McCambridge Crossan winning gold with the Dublin team.
