Dear Parents and Guardians,
We again thank you for your patience and understanding after South Dublin County Council cancelled our event last weekend. Cecil has put an exhaustive amount of work into securing an alternate date and venue for the Championships and all Dublin Clubs are indebted to him for his efforts.
We have confirmation of a venue for Sunday - along with a unique set of conditions imposed by Abbotstown.
While not ideal - it means we are able to prioritise the qualifiers for Nationals from the U11/U13/U15/U17 Age Groups this weekend and accommodate the U9 Dublin Championships at League 3 the following weekend.
I include the correspondence from the National Sports Campus for context:
"We have spent a good bit of time chasing other event organisers to try and narrow down carparking spaces required for Sunday.
We could accommodate this request on the provision that at no point in time do the number of car parking spaces in use as part of your event exceed 150 (this is an absolute maximum, apologies), this will also need to be managed and controlled by your staff or volunteers."
With this in mind there will be an amended timetable in operation, all Clubs have been asked to consider carpooling where possible and we will need to encourage athletes and spectators to leave as soon as possible after their event.
There will be a time gap between each pair of races to allow time for athletes and parents to exit the campus before the next pair of races - a somewhat creative schedule to account for the conditions imposed by the National Sports Campus.
This is certainly not an ideal situation - but it is the best option given the circumstances.

As you can appreciate - it takes a lot of effort from all clubs to host an athletics event. Thank you to the DSD parents and to the volunteers from the Dublin Athletics Board who have given up their time over the weekend, your generosity is very much appreciated.
NOTE:
Coaches will be on hand to warm-up athletes and will also walk the course before race start time – please note the time that your coach has advised to arrive.
Parking
Please see the accompanying map for directions and follow the marshals’ instructions. We have been instructed not to park in any of the red shaded areas – but to proceed to the green locations noted on the map.
Volunteers/Officials
Clubs are required to provide volunteers at all events and we would like to thank those who have put their name forward to volunteer over the weekend.
We would also like to thank our coaches who have prepared their athletes so well and will be attending on the day!
Any queries please don't hesitate to contact me at: dsdregistrar@gmail.com
Wishing all athletes the very best of luck!
Yours in Sport
