The National Senior Track & Field Championships proved to be a great weekend of athletics in Morton Stadium Santry, on Saturday and Sunday, with the large crowd of supporters enthusiastic and excited by the top class performances.
We had our fair share of excitement with our athletes performing so well, our 4x400m men’s relay team sending us home happy yesterday after a great win, and Cara Murphy winning her first senior gold in the 400m hurdles. Darragh McConville took silver in the 200m, with our 4 x 100m women’s team also finishing in 2nd position. Lorcan Murphy won bronze in the Men’s 100m and in the women’s 100m Mollie O’Reilly also finished a great 3rd. Ciarán Carthy finished a close up 3rd in the Men’s 400m and a short time later stepped up to take his place on the winning 4x400 relay team.
Congratulations to all!
